Medical Solutions - digital dictation & transcription using
NaturallySpeaking Medical v9
Unlike direct dictation, the medical author uses a digital dictation machine such as the Olympus DS-2300 that allows them to record information at or away from their PC. The typist/secretary has NaturallySpeaking 'speech recognition' software installed onto their PC with a voice file for any medical author trained up & installed onto their PC.
The process begins when the medical author dictates into a digital voice recorder, much the same way they would dictate into any handheld voice recorder. The author then uploads the files from their digital voice recorder to their computer via a USB cable or a docking station.
The user can then save the audio files to the directory of their choice (on their server) or the recording can be sent via email to the transcriptionist. (see diagram below).
